Snow Day…….

Well it’s been a while since I last posted anything, but as I have a whole day in the office I thought I would write a little something (On my dinner hour… of course!!)

As my ankle as now, nearly made a full recovery I have been away with work a lot. I have been travelling the country to go to meeting with the ever interesting D&T advisors!!! I was supposed to be in Wales today but when I heard the snow reports I thought it best to head home last night, hence the reason I am in the office today and not snowed in, in Wales!!

Can anyone remember the film, ‘Snow Day’? It’s was a film out in the late 90’s about a group of children in America. They had a day off school due to the fact that the snow was so bad and all the adventures they had on this day. It is a classic American kid’s film but I have to say that I loved watching it!!!! It is the perfect film to watch on a day like today, snuggled in front of the fire with a hot drink.
Why is it that, in this country, as the first snow flake hits the ground people go into mass hysteria mode? It makes me a laugh quite a bit, nower days even on a day like today 90% of the roads are clear enough to drive on and the chances of getting snowed in anywhere are pretty slim. But people insist that they ‘couldn’t possible make it to work’ or ‘it’s far to dangerous to drive in these conditions’ In actual fact I can’t remember a day when the know actually stopped me from doing anything since the late 80’s when we had a power cut for about 3 days or so.
Having said that, I do love the snow and I would use it as an excuse not to come to work if at all possible!! We have been having a rather fun day at work today; the few people that did make in to work have all been on a high from the sudden down-pour. Our car park was completely snowed over and was really slippery to drive on so a few of decided it would be a great idea to grit it! Well after about 20 minutes of spreading grip all over the car park it soon turned into a snowball fight. We eventually made it back to the office soaking wet and on a bit of high!!
The snow as stopped falling now and is starting to melt pretty quickly, so I guess there’s no chance of going home early today!!

Well that past couple of weeks have been pretty average with working and going out with friends. There’s not really much to tell. But next week it’s my birthday and I am having a bit of a gathering, which I am hoping will be lots of fun. It will just be a few friends, lots a drink and a game of poker or two. I am really looking forward to it. Then the following week I am off to Paris for 4 days with Sarah. I really can’t wait! Now my foot is getting back to normal I am not so worried about walking round the city, I just hope the weather is not too bad!!

Anyway I don’t really have much else to report at the mo. So lets just hope it snows again really heavily tonight so the country can grind to halt and we can all have a snow day…..
