Crazy Days and Paris…

Well this weekend has been quite a good one! On Friday night I went out with Kel. We just went to my local for a few drinks. It was really nice to catch up face to face (as we usually speak on messenger). We sat in the pub and attempted to take part in the music quiz but after not knowing the answers to the first 5 questions gave up!! We played a little card bingo, and for any of you people who haven’t sampled the delights of card bingo, sometimes known as sticky thirteen, you should really get yourself to a place and give it a go!! It’s very simple and is usually played the proverbial ‘old man pub’. Each player gets a random selection of 13 cards then random cards are read out to everyone, when one of your cards is read out you remove this card from your pile. The person who gets rid of all their cards first is the winner. This description probably doesn’t make the game sound appealing but I can tell you its very funny and become quite addictive!! There is an old man who comes into my local and on Friday he was playing card and every time one of his cards was read out he started shouting ‘ yeah, that’s my card, I’ve got another one!’ its was very funny! I think during playing cards me and Kel realised the alcohol was taking effect. After the pub shut we ended up going back to a friend’s house for a couple more drinks this turned into a bit of a late one and we didn’t get in until about 4 in the morning. We did have a really good laugh but Kel now says that after leaving the pub she can’t remember a huge amount!!!

On Saturday I went to a birthday party for a friend of the family. To be honest I wasn’t overly keen on going but it turned out not to be as bad as I expected. Kel was there and she said she had been feeling rough all day!! I went to the party with my sister in law and it was really nice to catch up with her and have a few drinks. She is a veterinary nurse and is very excited because she is going to Portugal for a week as a volunteer. They will spend a few hours a day helping to catch and spay stray cats. This is a great opportunity for her as she can put this on her CV as great experience. As well and doing some good and gaining experience, she will have a great time over there as well.

Its exactly one month until I go the Paris, I am getting very excited. Sarah and I are meeting this week to arrange accommodation and organise how we are going to get to the airport etc. It’s my birthday the week before I go so I have asked people to get me Euros so I have some spending money for when I’m there!

Anyway this is even starting to bore me now….

Until next time…..

Suffering Fools….

It’s been a good day today. Although I didn’t want to get up today, when I managed to drag myself out of bed I realised I was in a good mood, and slowly my day and mood has improved. I have spent the day working really hard and trying to get paperwork completed and making appointments and meetings for the up coming months. My job involves visiting teaching advisors and getting information from them about the D&T and Art market. It probably sounds dull as hell but I really enjoy it. I have to travel around the country to get to these people but I actually enjoy that as well. I have contacted 49 people today trying to arrange times to see them. Mostly via email which makes things a little easier but it means that people take their time getting back to you. Anyway I have arranged about 15 meetings in various places around the country for February and March. My aim is to be out of the office three days a week, so I have a bit to go yet!!
Due to the fact that I am a product manager for two school subject for my company I sometimes encounter crazy teachers who seem to think I am in customer services. I had a call today from a teacher who had brought a product from another company that we supply, confusing I know, but basically we make the product and sell it to another company to resell. Anyway, this woman had bought this product from someone else, somehow got my number and rang me to complain that the item was not working. After failing to transfer her to our customer services department, (due to her being adamant that she wanted to talk to me) I politely explained that if she didn’t buy it from us we couldn’t exchange the item or give her a refund. This conversation went on for a while probably due to her sheer ignorance. By the end of this 20 min phone call and after I had managed to convince her to call the company she bought the product from, she then told me she was expecting a free gift from my company in way of thanks for her reporting this product didn’t work!! I understand that this may take a while to get your head around but what???? Is this woman certifiably crazy? Does she need some medical help? I just do not understand how people like this manage to get them self through life. I don’t take kindly to suffering fools!

Despite this I have had a good day and managed to get a lot of work done. I am also going out tonight with my good mate Kel. We are going for a few drinks and a catch up at my local and I can’t wait!!

Anyway I am sure you are truly bored now so I will stop!!

Until next time…

Lost Puppy……..

What a crazy week this has been. I had my cast off on Monday, my leg is now free!! When the cast came off all the skin on my leg was peeling off and the colour of my leg was a really dark red colour. It’s not pleasant. Monday night and all say Tuesday was very painful and I didn’t move much. The swelling is still there.

It’s now Thursday and things are finally starting to get a little easier. I can put a bit of weight on it now so walking is a lot better. I think I’ll be able to ditch the crutches before long! Yay

Well last was an ordeal. My brother was walking his dogs on a park near where we live, when Tabby ran off and wouldn’t come back. Before long Andy realised that he couldn’t find her and began the search. He managed to recruit 8 people to help look for her but by this time it was pitch black and there where no street lights on the park to help. My brother went home to make some signs to stick up around the local area and about 11 o’clock they gave up the search for the night. I felt so useless that I couldn’t do anything to help, due to being on crutches there was nothing I could do.
No one got any sleep last night, I was up until about 4, my parents were awake from about 3, Andy, Nic and her mum couldn’t sleep either. Even my grandma had a restless night through worry. I just kept thinking of Tabby out there in the dark all on her own, scared, cold and wet.
Nic’s mum lives in a house right next to the park and at half past 4 this morning she got up to go to the bathroom and noticed that Tabby was sat by the door. She was very cold and wet but at least she was safe. Andy says that he went straight round to pick her up and when he got her home she ran upstairs, got on the bed and fell straight to sleep. Andy is going to the pet shop tonight to buy her a flashing light collar although he says she’s never coming off her lead again!!

Today, due to last nights activities of the wondering pooch, I am so tiered I really can’t function on 2 hours sleep before going to work. My eyes just want to close no matter how much I don’t want them too! I think everyone will sleep well tonight!!

I went for a drink last night with a friend of mine, Ema. We used to work together at blockbuster and stayed friends after we both left. We don’t see each other that often but when we do its just like we see each other every day. We spent some time catching up and then got down to business, so to speak. We have decided to start our diets together. We have opted for the G.I Diet. In theory this diet sounds really good. You can eat most things and the idea of it is that you never go hungry. I need to buy a book so I know what I can and can’t eat and all the technical bits I need to know. We are going to meet each week to swap tips and see how well we are doing, and I guess it’s a good excuse to have a good old girly chat as well! I need to go shopping and get some food in for the diet so as soon as I get going properly I will keep this updated and I may even start a bit of a food diary to keep track of things.

Well I must get back to work and start arranging some meetings for when my leg is all better. I have so many people I need to see and I am losing about on valuable field time!!

Until next time…

New Start…..

Well here it is my new blog! I have been meaning to change blogs since I pretty much started blogging, which wasn’t long ago, But i just never got round to doing it. I wanted to have a blog that i could add new pages too if I needed to. This one will suffice until I get bored and decide to change it again!!

Had such a lazy day today, apart from mess around with this i have done pretty much nothing. I didn’t even get out of bed until 12 O’ clock!! I went to a poker night at my bro’s last night, I lost miserably! Never mind it was a good laugh anyway! After the game me and my good friend Sarah went to our local for last orders. I think I may have had one to many drinks though, I was a little tipsy!!Anyway nothing else to say at the moment so….

Until next time…
